Frequently Asked Questions for
Alloy Wheel Insurance
Is my policy protected?
We use Ageas Insurance Limited, a UK FCA Authorised and Regulated Insurer, this means that your policy is fully protected under the Financial Services compensation Scheme.
What does ‘claim limit’ mean?
We offer one level of cover that pays the repairing agent a maximum of £100 per claim.
Can I extend my Alloy Wheel Insurance policy?
As long as the Insurer still underwrites this product and the vehicle is within it’s maximum allowable age and mileage, then yes, we would be able to supply you with a replacement policy.
Where do I get my Alloy Wheel repaired or replaced?
You need to contact the claims Administrator for authorisation, they will then assist in arranging for a specialist repair company to make the repair.
Can I transfer my policy to my replacement car?
So long as the replacement car qualifies, then yes, we would calculate the remaining value of your policy and deduct this amount from the premium for a new policy.
Is there an Excess to pay?
No, we do not charge an excess for any claim on this policy.
Is the policy available for all manufacturers of cars?
Yes, there are no exclusions, as long as they are listed in Glass’s Guide.
Are any particular type of Alloy Wheel excluded?
Only manufacturer standard specification alloys are covered except for diamond (laser) cut rims, split rim construction or with chrome effect finishes.
Do you have an initial 28 day exclusion period?
No, your vehicle is fully protected the moment the premium is paid and you are in receipt of your policy documents.
Do you cover for overseas travel?
No, currently we are unable to offer cover outside of the UK.
Is the premium quoted an annual amount or a one off payment for the full term quoted?
The premiums we quote are for the full duration of the policy amd it includes Insurance Premium Tax.
