Overall Car of the Year 2021

The overall winner for 2020 was the brand new Ford Puma, in 2019 the Kia e-Niro and in 2018 the Volvo XC40 – although our favourite from that year was the strangely retro-yet-modern Honda E! Simon England, Managing Director of ALA, is thrilled that the award can still go ahead for 2021 albeit in a digital format:
This has been a tricky and turbulent year for all and if we can have a slice of normality amongst it all, even just for a week, then for all of the staff and people in the motor industry that have been affected, that is something ALA can get behind.
He adds
The partnership we have with What Car? is something we’re extremely proud of and we’re happy to be part of the all-new awards format in the new year. And it means I don’t have to wear a tux!
We’ll be back with the category shortlists soon but in the meantime have a look here for a list of all Car of the Year award winners since 1978!
