First, the good. ALA paid out on my claim, and their guidance was generally good throughout the process, with quick responses to queries.

However, the payout was somewhat less than expected. When they pay the cost that you paid for the car, this exclude such basic things included in the 'on the road' price as delivery. In effect, they pay out the base cost of the car you purchased, which is far less than the minimum on the road price you can drive away from the dealer with.

With that in mind, the policy was cheap and they paid in good time. For that reason, I've bought a policy with ALA for my replacement car, but paid the extra so they cover the cost of a replacement vehicle if the worst happens.

Unfortunately my car was written off in a five car shunt. The whole experience with my claim for gap insurance was handled quickly and without any hassles. The whole process took less than three weeks from the time of the accident to settling the claim. Would highly recommend this service.

Policy was much cheaper than the one offered by the dealer. Unfortunately I did have to claim after 18 months however this was handled quickly and efficiently. Have now taken out another policy for my replacement car. Would definitely recommend.

Hassle free to take out insurance, gave great peace of mind. Car was unfortunately declared a total loss following a crash and pay out was made within 10 days to full amount of invoice with no quibbling.

Called when my car was declared a write off, filled in the form, sent it off late Friday evening. Called Monday to see if it was looked at to be told my claim was with accounts and the cheque would be sent to me on Wednesday! Would definitely recommend and I have taken it out again on my new car

We never bought GAP insurance before, but glad we did this time. There were many companies to choose from and ALA looked the most competitive. When talking to them they were extremely friendly, courteous and understood our needs. UNFORTUNATELY we were involved in an incident which caused our new car to be written off at only 10 months old. FORTUNATELY we had GAP insurance with ALA. They settled our claim with prompt efficiency, relieving all stress and worry. We will definitely use ALA again as our FIRST choice for Insurance.
