I am so glad that I purchased GAP insurance with ALA 2 years ago. My car was involved in an accident on the 14th July and was a total loss claim. Without GAP insurance I would not have been able to replace my car for the same value as I purchased. I would have had to buy an older, less reliable car.

AMS, your Claims Administrators and, in particular Catherine, were brilliant from start to finish. I am a community physio so it was important that I was mobile as quickly as possible and they really pulled out all the stops . I picked up my new car on 26th July, less than two weeks after the accident and YES I have purchased GAP insurance with ALA again.

Our car was written off following an accident and probably the least stressful aspect was dealing with ALA.

From my initial call to ALA, right up to finalising the claim, the customer service was excellent. Everything was dealt with by one person(!!!), how unusual these days, and she explained everything about the process before confirmation came by post within days.
Obviously we were delighted to receive the settlement without any hassle which allowed us to replace our car quickly.
It goes without saying that GAP insurance is top of our list when changing the car now.

When I purchased my Ford KA I was offered GAP insurance by the Ford dealer. I was unaware of this type of product at the time, but was interested in it as I was purchasing the car on finance. The dealer was asking for quite a large sum for the product, and this would have been purchased as part of the finance agreement and therefore incur interest over the three years. I did some online research, and came ALA who were charging significantly less for the product, so I took out the policy in the hope that I would never need it.

In January this year I was driving home from work on the motorway, and my car was hit from behind by a lorry. The car was written off having sustained significant damage to the rear and side where I then hit the central reservation. Fortunately I was relatively uninjured.

I still had several months left on my finance agreement, therefore I would have been left with very little money with which to replace my car - my sole means of transport to get to work. My insurance company valued the car and I contacted ALA immediately to claim for the difference. I was given the necessary forms to complete and return, and within weeks of the forms being sent back I received a cheque for the expected amount through the post.

The whole process was very clearly set out, and any questions I had were answered. Having GAP insurance made such a difference to me when it came to buying a new car, and I would (and have) recommend to all my friends that they take this out too, especially if purchasing a car on finance. I could not have asked for more from your company, and am very happy with the level of service I received from you.

I made a claim with ALA and recall the whole process being quite straight forward.

I called the claims line to clarify one aspect of the paperwork that was needed and was very happy with the service I received.

The process itself was quick and efficient and as stated above, I would happily consider a new policy with ALA, as if I needed to make a claim in the future, I know it will be dealt with in a speedy fashion.

My GAP insurance claim was handled very quickly and efficiently, and I did not have to chase my claim at all as I was constantly kept up to speed.

If you need to make a claim, you need your original car purchase invoice, along with all the purchase details, so keep them in a safe place in case you need them.

I recommend ALA's service completely.

I was amazed at the excellent service I received from ALA and their claims handlers when my car was stolen and never found. The claim was processed smoothly and quickly once I had provided the paperwork. I am such a happy customer because with the settlement I received, I managed to purchase brand new VW Golf which I would not have been able to do without having GAP insurance.

I would highly recommend ALA to anyone because of how they handled my claim and of course I renewed my policy with ALA on my new car!

I would like to thank ALA for a truly great experience when I was unfortunate enough to have to make a claim after the vehicle was declared a write-off. The claim was settled in 12 days! I bought myself a brand new car and had not lost a penny following the accident.

For the first time I decided to take out GAP insurance when buying a new car, as the dealer price was extortionate I looked elsewhere, ALA were 60% cheaper and the policy ran an extra year! Unfortunately I had to make a claim due to my car being stolen and unrecovered eighteen months later.

All I can say is the whole experience was faultless and hassle free in every way, there were no hurdles to jump, just a process that was friendly and most importantly fast. Needless to say I took out cover for my replacement car with ALA, this time 65% cheaper, the dealer said they could not possibly compete. I'm happy because I know if it all goes wrong again I can rely on ALA, as they have proven they give a service more than worthy of repeat custom.

I was unlucky enough to be involved in a car accident in August 2012, as a result of which my BMW was written off. Three vehicles were involved altogether, but, thankfully, despite the severity of the damage to my car, no injuries occurred.

As soon as I had had time to recover from the shock of it all, I telephoned AMS and had the pleasure of being introduced to Catharine in Customer Services. I had expected a mammoth obstacle course to negotiate, between dealing with my main insurer and with AMS, however nothing could have been further from the truth; Catharine immediately set my mind at rest, and told me in simple terms exactly which documents I would need, how many copies to make, and then outlined precisely how I should react to any settlement offered by my insurer. I put the phone down feeling on top of what could have been a very difficult scenario.

My main insurance company swiftly made a settlement offer which Catharine advised me was satisfactory, and I accepted it. A small delay occurred because of a cherished number plate transfer, and again my regular contact with AMS gave me the reassurance I needed to carry on with everyday life and let someone else take the weight of the aftermath of the crash. Because of the clear instructions Catharine had given me, everything I needed to make my claim was ready to go by the time my final settlement cheque arrived from the main insurer. I posted my claim to AMS on Monday 24th September. A cheque for the full settlement of my claim arrived in the morning post on Wednesday 26th September!

All in all, I was £7175 better off as a result of having taken out my gap policy. Having a GAP policy with ALA took all the stress out of a difficult situation, and gave me the peace of mind to source a new car at the earliest opportunity. I cannot praise ALA and their Claims team enough - the process was straightforward, the Customer Service provided by Catharine was outstanding, and the very first thing I did after replacing my car was to purchase a new ALA policy. The icing on the cake is the price - my new policy saved me £190 over the equivalent offering from the main dealer. For me, ALA GAP is a no-brainer. I cannot praise the product enough.
