ALA Additional Cover

We have taken out ALA Gap insurance on three cars (wife’s, daughter and step daughter) and we had to make a claim following step daughter’s car, a 15 month old Lexus CT200H being written off in an accident caused by a foreign lorry driver running into cars queuing for the A2 Bluewater turn-off in Kent. ALA’s claims handling company were excellent, they worked with the insurance company (Admiral) and immediately transferred the GAP amount to us. The total we received was the invoice amount of the car (it was an ex-demonstrator when purchased) including covering the £540 policy excess, exactly as stated. Just one personal observation, I think it is best if you are covering a new car to go for the “Vehicle Replacement Plus” cover. If you are covering an ex-demo or used car, go for the “Back to Invoice Plus” cover, but ALA will advise you. I can certainly say this is a very good company to deal with and will be buying from ALA again. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Gap insurance gives you peace of mind financially should your car be a total write off. A friend of mine had a Mercedes on finance and had it written off a month before she had finished paying for it. Her insurance payout was the market value at the time leaving her to find a large amount to replace her vehicle. ALA Insurance was easy to purchase online and there are discount codes around if you look on internet.

We have just took out our 2nd GAP insurance policy from ALA Insurance. Our first was on a new Citroen C4 and then I contacted ALA on the phone to discuss a second policy when we traded in for a Skoda Octavia. ALA was offering a 10% discount for already being a customer however their premium wasn’t the cheapest on the market.
Had a chat with a customer service rep who searched the market again and was able to price match a similar policy saving us £££s.
More than happy to recommend ALA.
