We can’t authorise repair costs which are greater than the purchase price of the vehicle. Total claims cannot exceed the purchase price of the vehicle. Aside from general exclusions, there are a couple of ways that your car warranty can be invalidated:
No, most extended warranty providers will not include tyre and alloy wheel cover. However, there are options to include this as additional cover.
ALA does not generally cover car batteries because they are considered consumables – naturally degrading over time and inevitably needing to be replaced. If you own a hybrid vehicle, the hybrid vehicle battery is covered on Platinum and Gold Levels of cover. If you own an electric vehicle, consider purchasing third-party battery insurance to avoid the expense of a replacement.
Brake pads aren’t covered because they are designed to wear away. However, other parts of the brake system are covered – ensure you check what’s included on your level of extended warranty cover.
No, unfortunately, car warranty doesn’t cover the windshield. Damage from external sources such as stones or accidents is typically covered by your comprehensive car insurance. Any structural defects should be covered during the car’s original warranty.

No, you cannot use an extended warranty to cover a fault that occurred before purchasing an extended warranty policy.
No, car warranty should not be used in place of comprehensive car insurance to cover accidental damage, collisions, vandalism, fire or weather damage. Extended warranty is limited to covering unexpected mechanical or electrical failures.
