Top tips for buying an Extended Warranty

Although extended warranties can all start to look alike, as with all insurance policies, the devil really is in the detail.

Whilst it doesn’t make for exciting reading, it is important to check through the documents to confirm exactly what cover you are looking at purchasing or, indeed, have already purchased.

Consequential Damage

Car systems are complex, meaning the failure of one part can have a knock-on effect. Most car warranty providers exclude consequential damage.

However, we’re committed to keeping your repair costs to a minimum, so we’ll repair non-cosmetic damage of a covered component directly resulting from failure of another named component.

Transfer of Cover

Buying an extended warranty doesn’t mean you can’t sell your car. In fact, having an extended warranty in place can be useful – your car might be more appealing to prospective buyers. With ALA Warranty, you can transfer your policy cover to a new owner, free of charge.

You can take out a new extended warranty or continue using your new car’s manufacturer warranty.

Please note that the new owner will only be able to make a claim 28 days after the policy transfer.
