PLEASE NOTE

Those components covered are insured against both sudden and unforeseen mechanical and electrical breakdown. The replacement of oil filters, lubricants, antifreeze and fluids is included, provided the replacement is necessitated by the failure of an insured component. External oil leaks are specifically excluded. It is recommended that you check your vehicle’s oil level on a weekly basis.

Component cover

There are four tiers of Ford warranty available from that manufacturer: PowetrainCARE, BaseCARE, ExtraCARE and PremiumCARE, offering varying levels of component cover, price and criteria.

The more basic levels of cover, such as the Ford powertrain warranty, cover the engine and drive system. ExtraCARE and PremiumCARE provide more detailed component cover, including various electrical systems and safety features.

On the other hand, ALA offers three levels of cover: Silver, Gold and Platinum. A key difference is that we offer Wear & Tear cover to premium policyholders, and you can buy a policy even after your existing warranty has expired.

ALA policies can be purchased for up to 3 years, whereas Ford’s extended warranty is available for 12 months.

Price

Basic Ford Warranties can be affordable, starting at around £210 – £380 for 12 months. On the other hand, ALA Warranties start at around £500 for one year but provide excellent multi-year discounts.

Eligibility requirements

With ALA, policies are available for Ford vehicles up to 150,000 miles and 16 years old. However, Ford’s extended warranty is only available to buy BEFORE your factory warranty expires, making it less helpful for used cars.
