We know that being involved in an event where your car is written off, you’ve had a accident on your bike or when your car or bike is stolen, can be an uncomfortable experience. Having GAP or Cycle Insurance covers you when you get a replacement car or bike, however what happens to you?

We speak to countless customers every day and some of the conversations that have stuck with us the most are the ones where people have been deeply affected by an accident or being the victim of theft. We wanted to do something to support those that might be struggling.

We are pleased to offer any customer who has had to make a claim on their GAP or Cycle Insurance policy, professional counselling to address any thoughts and feelings associated with the incident that led to them making a claim.

We have newly partnered with Spill; a well-respected and forward-thinking therapy platform, to give our customers – who need it – extra assistance.

Who is Spill?

Through Spill, you can speak with a qualified therapist about anything at all that’s on your mind. You can access this therapy free of charge, because ALA pays for it on your behalf. You don’t need to be depressed, anxious or experiencing psychosis to need therapy. It could be as simple as feeling stressed at work, overthinking things, or going through a life change.

Our counsellors are specialised in everything from addiction and burnout to relationship and trauma support, to make sure you speak to the right person for your needs. And if anyone would like a specific modality of therapy, Spill’s counsellors practise existential therapy, CBT, psychoanalysis — and much more.

How does it work?

Step 1

If you have had to claim on your GAP or Cycle Insurance policy and you feel like you need to talk to an accredited therapist, get in touch with one our team via spill_claims@ala.co.uk, along with proof of your claim and we will set you up.

Step 2

Pick a therapist and a time that works for you.

Step 3

We will cover one therapy session for you an an accredited therapist on the Spill platform.

Step 4

All therapists are vetted and accredited and there are hundreds of practitioners available to speak to you via Zoom or the telephone – so no matter where you are in the UK – you’ll be able to find someone to talk to.

Terms and Conditions
